What To Do In Vermont's Northeast Kingdom

Long Pond in Westmore, VTThough remote, Vermont's Northeast Kingdom offers a variety of cultural and outdoors activities for the spring, summer, winter and fall. The area is home to many artists and artisans whose crafts are influenced by the surrounding's wilderness and country motif. Though antiquing and enjoying fall foliage aren't mentioned, those amusements are a native pass time, being native to the region. Skiing, snowmobiling, snow-shoeing and ice fishing are a winter pastime, as well, and bring many visitors to the area from December till May each year.

While you're there peruse the isles and find Currier's Collection of Taxidermy, an incredible assortment of taxidermy bear, deer, moose, lynx, bobcat, mountain lion, wild turkey, possum and other species of wild game and birds. Most taxidermy game were donated by the residents of Glover and taken in the area. A few of the fine figures are from outside this territory. Many species are displayed in their entirety.
